About AMBA

AMBA is an interest group of companies established to represent the use of polymers in the Australian construction industry. The group is part of Chemistry Australia and all participants are also Chemistry Australia members.

Polymer-based materials are increasingly used in building and construction to make our buildings more sustainable and energy efficient.

Polymer-based building products are diverse and have numerous applications. From window frames and piping, to flooring and state-of-the art insulation that protects from cold and heat, polymers play a pivotal role in our modern built environment.

As innovation drives new applications, AMBA will engage with construction industry stakeholders and regulators to ensure the use of polymers contributes to buildings that are safe, enduring and efficient.

Our goal is that more Australians can take advantage of the specific benefits of polymer-based building materials as we transition to a low-carbon economy.

Our vision

The benefits of polymer-based construction products are harnessed to create enduring modern buildings that are safe, sustainable and energy-efficient.

Our purpose

We engage with industry, policy makers and stakeholders about the properties and benefits of polymer-based construction products, including cost, energy and resource efficiency, sustainability, durability, ease of installation, and insulation properties.
Through our engagement, we advocate for innovation in polymer-based materials and building products, and the safe and compliant use of these products in line with the National Construction Code (NCC).

AMBA Membership

Led by our national board, our membership includes polymer producers whose materials are used in Australian construction products.
